Al contrario, <strong>i loro membri sembrano divertirsi a sfatare gli stereotipi, mostrandosi come nessuno li immagina<\/strong>. In uno dei suoi scatti pi\u00f9 famosi, <em>La R\u00e9publique<\/em>, che ritroviamo nella sua mostra personale <em>Communaut\u00e9s. Projets 2005-2025<\/em> allestita alla Fondazione MAST di Bologna fino al 28 settembre, l\u2019artista franco-agerino mette in scena le rivolte dell\u2019autunno del 2005 nelle banlieue francesi prendendo in prestito la struttura e le linee di forza di uno dei quadri simbolo dell\u2019Ottocento francese: <em>La Libert\u00e9 guidant le peuple<\/em> di Eug\u00e8ne Delacroix(1830, Louvre, Parigi). <strong>Al posto dei parigini insorti contro Carlo X e guidati da un\u2019indomita Marianna ci sono i ragazzi delle periferie<\/strong>, eredi come lo stesso Bourouissa di una complessa storia coloniale e impegnati a cercare il proprio posto in una societ\u00e0 che talvolta li spinge ai margini. Le immagini pi\u00f9 recenti della serie <em>P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique<\/em> mostrano periferie pacificate, con giovani e famiglie che si ritrovano al parco nel tempo libero<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>Nelle opere pi\u00f9 recenti della stessa serie, che si intitola <em>P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique<\/em> (come l\u2019anello di asfalto che circonda Parigi escludendo i sobborghi), giovani e famiglie di origine nordafricana si rilassano al parco, si abbracciano, si scattano un selfie. <strong>Sono colti in momenti di condivisione e di gioco che servono all\u2019autore per riflettere su come le comunit\u00e0 immigrate vengano rappresentate in Occidente.<\/strong> In <em>Alyssia<\/em>, uno scatto del 2002 che ritrae una ragazza intenta a fotografarsi, vestita e pettinata come le influencer pi\u00f9 in voga, il riferimento \u00e8 a una certa visione della donna di provenienza islamica, che si immagina repressa e velata, ma che non sempre corrisponde alla realt\u00e0. \u201c<em>Per affrontare il tema della comunit\u00e0, che percorre sostanzialmente la sua intera produzione, osservato e restituto ogni volta in maniera sensibilmente diversa, Bourouissa si deve in qualche modo immergere al suo interno<\/em>\u201d spiega Francesco Zanot, critico e storico specializzato in fotografia e curatore della mostra. \u201c<em>\u00c8 un argomento che non pu\u00f2 essere semplicemente osservato e rappresentato: <strong>l\u2019osservazione deve essere partecipata e partecipante<\/strong>,<\/em><strong><em>secondo<\/em><\/strong><em> <strong>una prassi simile a quell<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>a dello scienziato sociale<\/em><\/strong><em>\u201d.<\/em> Per questoMohamed Bourouissa, nato nel 1978 a Blida, 45 chilometri a sud-est di Algeri, <strong>tende a lavorare su comunit\u00e0 che conosce bene, per nascita o per esservisi calato per periodi pi\u00f9 o meno lunghi<\/strong>, oppure a coinvolgere alcuni membri di uno specifico gruppo assegnando loro il ruolo di co-autori.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>Horse Day<\/em>, per esempio, un\u2019altra delle serie esposte al MAST, \u00e8 il frutto di un\u2019immersione nelle scuderie sociali di un quartiere afroamericano di Philadelphia, <strong>culminata nell\u2019organizzazione di una parata di \u201ccowboy neri\u201d <\/strong>(ecco un altro stereotipo sfatato) concepita anche come un atto di riconquista dello spazio pubblico. \u201c<em>Il lavoro di Mohamed riflette anche la fluidit\u00e0 e la vitalit\u00e0 del concetto di comunit\u00e0<\/em>\u201d prosegue Zanot. \u201c<strong><em>I suoi soggetti, come tutti noi, non appartengono a una sola comunit\u00e0, ma a diverse comunit\u00e0 contemporaneamente<\/em><\/strong><em>. La serie \u00e8 frutto di un periodo di \u201cosservazione partecipante\u201d, quasi alla maniera degli antropologi, in una comunit\u00e0 afroamericana di Philadephia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p><em>Hands<\/em>, la serie pi\u00f9 recente, mostrata al pubblico per la prima volta proprio a Bologna, ha come punto di partenza non una comunit\u00e0 di persone in carne e ossa ma un insieme di immagini fotografiche: dettagli di corpi, recuperati nell\u2019archivio di Borouissa e stampati su plexiglas colorato <strong>su uno sfondo di griglie metalliche<\/strong> che sembrano imprigionarli. \u201c<em>La scelta di usarle non risponde semplicemente a una questione formale, ma <strong>costituisce un dispositivo archite<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>ttonico che rimanda alle barriere, alle recinzioni e alle celle. <\/em><\/strong><em>Ma \u00e8 anche un <strong>riferimento alle griglie concettuali che organizzano il sapere, classificano i soggetti, codificano i comportamenti<\/strong>. Le immagini si sovrappongono a questa struttura come <strong>frammenti di resistenza<\/strong><\/em>\u201d chiarisce il curatore. Non \u00e8 la prima volta che l\u2019artista usa degli <em>objets trouv\u00e9s<\/em>, cio\u00e8 fotografie non prodotte ex novo, come base per un suo lavoro. In <em>Shoplifters<\/em> si trattava di polaroid scattate dal proprietario di un supermercato di Brooklyn a persone sorprese a rubare beni di prima necessit\u00e0 ed esposte come monito per chiunque desiderasse imitarle.
