Why should we care more for – or rather, be more concerned with – woods, from those close to home to those on the other side of the planet?
In this exclusive video-interview for humus®, Antonio Perazzi, landscape architect, botanist and writer, lists the reasons for this necessary concern; he also explains how woods grow, and what is their function in the natural ecosystem, which we are also a part of.
There are many ways of cooperating with the woods, introducing them into the urban environment and supporting their development: Perazzi talks about his particular method, which respects wild settings, and illustrates some of his projects, including the urban forest being implemented at the BIM Bicocca in Milan.
His is an invitation to work in harmony with nature, rather than seeking to tame it, unleashing the wild and vital energy it expresses.
